Chinese calligraphy
Chinese calligraphy uses symbols to represent words similar to Egyptian Hieroglyphics. There are no letters as in the traditional Western writing forms. This Chinese writing art has been in use for over 5000 years and continues to this day.

Traditional Chinese scroll paintings and Japanese scrolls are painted on rice paper. When the watercolor paints are applied, the colors are absorbed into the rice paper. These Chinese wall scroll paintings are mounted with silk thread matting borders using the ancient Chinese and Oriental painting techniques
